“evidence that the left today has lost respect for democratic institutions”

Stopped reading right there. I think that’s obvious based on how they ran the gov’t the past 8 years and the abuses we are finding out about now (FBI, DOJ, CIA, DOS, etc...)

Stopped reading right there.
+++++
You should go back and read the full article.

I agree with you that there is really nothing new in what the author had to say - at least for Freepers.. No real news. But it is a well written and excellent summary of how close we are to the abyss of permanent radical Democrat control of our government.

I think that are scrambling because the original plan was Never Trump and it failed. What we are witnessing is an ill thought out recovery plan that is also falling apart at the seams.

In 1995, the Democrats were forced to unlock doors and allow Republicans inside offices at the Capitol that they had not seen since 1954. Remember how they hated Newt:

The 1994 elections resulted in Republicans gaining 54 House and 9 U.S. Senate seats. When the Republicans gained this majority of seats in the 104th Congress, the Contract was seen as a triumph by party leaders such as Minority Whip Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, and the American conservative movement in general.
