The film version starred Sally Field.
The clip above is an interview with the REAL woman, Betty Mahmoody.
Betty is still alive. Why someone isn't getting her to tell her story again I don't know.
I urge FREEPers to read the book. You can devour it in a weekend, the tale is that riveting.
Do not let this history be forgotten.
The way women are treated in Iran (and throughout Islamic society apparently) is appalling.
She and her daughter are still apparently available:

Notice how with 5000 movie channels on 24/7 that film has nonetheless dropped out of sight?
It is being deliberately suppressed as “Islamophobic”.
Personally I think it should be required viewing for
all young girls.
Bkmrk.
You can rent the movie for $3.99 from Amazon and stream it.
The book is amazing (and in my opinion, so much better than the film). The film is true to the book but the horrors that Betty writes about don’t come across in the film.
I noticed an influx of Middle Eastern young men into the small town where I graduated high school. I would come back from my job in the city and hear friends speak about the camel jockeys in town, who loved dating American women. And this was just after the Morals (or lack there of) Revolution. I think we are really unaware of the length of time that the takeover of our country has been in the works. Prayers that Trump can get a firm hold on the Deep State and repair our country to its full potential again.
I read this excellent book a few years ago. Not only was it very gripping, it was interesting to see how the Iranians lived. Very dirty, unsanitary conditions along with primitive and savage attitudes.
I’ve never forgotten “Not Without My Daughter”! Omigosh, what a movie!!
I wish I could see the rest of this documentary you posted since it has interviews with the real life Betty.
That movie just reinforced my opinion that Islam was Evil.
Betty had converted to islam, hadn’t she? Did she renounce that? Over the years, I have read articles about her, but I never read that she said anything against islam. Just wondering.
Neighbors of ours... ok, about ten miles off. Mrs. Ex has met them.
