“So...Trump, John Kelly and Dan Coats were deceived by this Rosenstein ruse? Along with the entire White House legal team?

Is that the contention? “

Not for me! I think Trump is just paying out the rope on these feckless pr!cks.

"Absolutely not true or relevant. Horowitz is working closely with John Huber (with his grand jury) and John Lausch who DO have subponea powers.

More hysteria from the “Sessions isn’t doing anything” crowd.

BTW, anyone hear from Cody Hiland lately? Sure has been awfully quiet down there in Little Rock with an empaneled Grand Jury.

Yes, we need an independent counsel to investigate as Rosenstein is involved and has a conflict and the IG has no authority with the folks who already quit.

Why is Trump even DEALING with Rosenstein

If Rosenstein does not comply then a real reason to fire.

Wouldn’t Huber be the one to subpoena and prosecute? Wasn’t this issue addressed in the email investigation? Should we give it until the IG report is released and see how it goes from there? Would a special prosecutor have to start from square one?

John Huber (with his grand jury)

What's your supposed proof of this? Most of your previous claims, such as insisting that Mueller is working for Trump for over a year now, have hardly panned out.

Agree with you @ post 37 about the conflict. Mueller essentially has the same conflict given his relationships with witnesses.

However, I don’t know what to make of Sessions. There is either a whole lot of leak-proof action (the way DOJ used to be by the way) going on in the background or Trump is not the leader I believe he is. There is NO WAY Trump would tolerate such inaction. As VDH says about Trump..... “he has an animal cunning.” He has shown this cunning over and over and he is keeping campaign promises like nobody I have ever seen. What was one of this biggest promises? To drain the swamp.

While we are all reading the frustrations and criticisms here on FR, why do we assume he is not going to keep this promise? I think there is a long game going on. Nothing else makes sense to me. Perhaps I am wrong, but I believe he will keep his promises and the opposition is now exposed to whatever is coming.

“seems we’re never going to see the IG report”

I agree. We were told the crap would hit the fan when the IG report hits in January, March, April then May. Anyone holding their breath for the IG report is long since dead. We will eventually see the report, the DOJ REDACTED report.

I think the house resolution is more about pushing a new speaker than anything else.

Donald Trump graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvana (an Ivy League university) in 1968. Shortly thereafter, he borrowed $1 million from his father and entered into the real estate market. After doing one deal involving a large apartment complex in Cincinnati, OH (in which he made a LOT of money), he got bored with residential real estate and entered into the commercial market in NYC - one of the most competitive and cut-throat real estate markets in the world. Fast forward to 1998, when his father died and left him (and other siblings) his fortune: Donald Trump was ALREADY a billionaire at that point.

The point of all of this background information is to establish that the man is no dope - quite the opposite, in fact. He not only created a huge (or, more accurately, YUUUUUGE) business empire likely worth somewhere between $6 billion and $8 billion, but he got nominated as the Republican candidate for President over 16 other candidates in what was arguably one of the most experienced and qualified slates of candidates ever seen (at least in the last 100 years). Then he beat the Clinton machine, despite nearly 100% media support for her, plus vote-rigging, etc., etc. How is it that anyone thinks that this guy is easily snowed? On top of everything else, he is literally awake and thinking about how to outsmart his opponents while they are in bed, sleeping.

Bottom line: we’re NOT seeing all of the cards here...because Trump isn’t going to let his opponents see them until it is too late for them to do anything about what he has planned for them. Trust the man - he wasn’t born yesterday, and he’s as smart as just about anyone out there.

“BTW, anyone hear from Cody Hiland lately? Sure has been awfully quiet down there in Little Rock with an empaneled Grand Jury.”

Well LS, I would hope that in the end, your assessment is correct, but my gut tells me not to have a lot of hope for it. The sad fact of the matter is it’s “always awfully quiet everywhere that supposedly “justice is working it’s magic,” And “quiet” serves the enemies of justice purposes The “legal system” has gotten so convoluted and ineffective at getting at serious breaches in our Constitution, so as to end up not serving us at all.
My last “stint” with the courts was acting as an “in pro per” representative for my late mother’s estate (we’re talking a condo, an old car and about $200k in stocks, and only two heirs, me and my sister who died while the matter was wending it’s way through the system). Something that should have been capable of disposal in 90 days, tops, took a year and a half simply because of “the system.” Death is the legal system’s last chance at a chunk of what you’ve achieved in life. Screw all the lawyers and the ‘”judges”, they are always in it for themselves and not for their clients or justice. I remember one day in court where an idiot lawyer effed up, and the judge actually said “that’s why we call it practicing law,” no $hit, but they get to “practice” on your dime!
And don’t get me going on Mueller’s gestapo tactics. The KGB couldn’t do it any better.
We need a looser pays system, a government that doesn’t have the legal/financial deck stacked in it’s favor, and serious time limits on the process.

Unfortunately, I dont have any faith in what LS says at all.

He predicted that Mueller’s first indictment would be of Tony Podesta last fall, how does that look in hindsight?

He then predicted the IG report would be released in January and that indictments of Hillary’s team and the crroked FBI agents would be announced at the same time when that’s not even in the IG’s power.

He strongly insisted that Roy Moore was going to win the Sessions seat.

To this day he still insists that Mueller is actually on Trump’s side, which is about as upside down as one could be based on the apparent known facts.

Just above in this thread I’ve called for him to provide some actual evidence that Huber has a grand jury in place, when all other sources including the DOJ state that Huber is only performing some analytics which are then being reported back to Sessions, nothing else.

As usual he’ll probably respond that his secret twitter cabal has the evidence, the same twitter cabal that was wrong on all the above, and more. Sorry, but I’ve just run out of patience with those claiming they want to see justice done, but their actions seem more focused on pacifying us with bad information designed to lower our own will to fight.

Yeah, they act like vultures, just sitting on the fence waiting and hoping for their prey will die of old age. My “vulture” is like Trump, not waiting for the prey to die, but rather going down and killing it himself! LS is surely entitled to his opinion, but I am free to ignore it.

Ok, let’s say it is a ruse. What is the purpose? It sure seems to have “offended” the right people (Holder, Brennan, Clapper, Yates, et al)

This isn’t a bit surprising for those that know what an IG is for, and what the office’s limits are, but i realize it’s way more fun for too many ignorant FReeeprs and assorted trolls here to rant and rave about shite they know nothing about.

Ordering Horowitz to investigate the Dem/Obama campaign spying is a good first step for investigating these peccadilloes. The paper trail is all still there as are many existing FedGov employees who CAN be made to testify about both former and existing employees.

When criminal activity IS found by the IG, THEN he refers to ACTUAL law enforcement officials who DO have broad subpoena power, as was the case with the criminal referral of McCabe.

And I fully expect that’s what we’re going to see with the upcoming release of the Clinton report, as well as several others that Horowitz still has in the works. People here forget that Horowitz announced several months ago that there were going to multiple reports, each one dealing with an different issue.
