Having extended family in Taiwan I know how their students are treated which is well. The kids there are respectful and want to get their PhD’s even at an early age. They all wear uniforms and it is ingrained in them to want to do well. They know the value of an education.
Maybe the attitudes in the various countries account for the mess that we have here in comparison.?
The values are more likely the reason.
In many, if not most other cultures, kids are taught to value an education and respect adults.
