Sadly, I am in the ‘waste of money camp’

Weathersats - god stuff. Geo and LOE com birds, super -duper.

A multi-billion white elephant made to provide a reason to work with the now very former Soviet Union - not so much.

It’s OK, I see the Hubble as a giant waste of taxpayer dollars as well.

The Hubble replacement gizmo is way over budget and years behind schedule. As is nearly every NASA ‘project’ of late. Shuttle replacement anyone?

NASA has outlived it’s cost.

BTW - as a taxpayer, I really do get to have a say in this....

Guess you missed the part where they identified novel virulence genes in microbes and identified potential new therapeutic targets for both spaceflight and for folks on the ground. Probably not important though, right? Look, I just identified that which you said didn’t exist. Plugging your ears and closing your eyes will not change reality.
