On example in the past 48 hours: on the one hand, he tells Chilean sex abuse whistleblower Juan Carlos Cruz that it doesn't matter that he's gay, because "God made you that way and God loves you that way," and he should just "be happy for who he is."
(Which is in direct contradiction to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, but moving right along...)
Then he issues that 10 page document denouncing the Chilean Bishops for, among other things, sending "priests suspected of active homosexuality" to diocesan seminaries.
So should bishops and seminary rectors tell gay seminarians and priests to be "happy with their homosexuality"? Or should they get them the hell out of the seminary?
