President Donald Trump said Sunday that he will “demand” this week that the Justice Department open an investigation into whether the FBI infiltrated his presidential campaign for political purposes and whether any demands or requests for such action originated with the Obama administration.

Trump tweeted: “I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes — and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!”

The Justice Department declined to comment. […]

Trump did not elaborate on the promised “demand,” which he included in one of a series of tweets he sent throughout the day Sunday. On Saturday, Trump tweeted, “If the FBI or DOJ was infiltrating a campaign for the benefit of another campaign, that is a really big deal.” He said only the release or review of documents the House Intelligence Committee is seeking from the Justice Department “can give conclusive answers.” …

Yeah I’m sure the Department of Justice will do a fantastic job of investigating itself.

I guess it’s good news that PDJT can order them to do anything. I hope Lindsey Graham doesn’t start impeachment proceedings in response.

Linda’s not a representative, so she can’t file articles of impeachment.

“The Justice Department declined to comment.”

Who speaks for the Justice Department? Why is no one named?

I don’t think he’s going to launch the big counterattack yet.

There are other things to play out first (e,g, IG report).

If Trump fires Sessions and nominates Giuliani tomorrow.
Would the Senate approve Giuliani?

I would like to find out.

Has this been a rope-a-dope maneuvered by President Trump in allowing his enemies to fling everything at him for awhile and then smack them back effectively when they are out of gas?

Uh yeah; POTUS was playing possum (as is AG Sessions) all along. They’ve compiled plenty of evidence and expect President Trump to start taking actions that will follow with powerful law enforcement outcomes).

This is the beginning of the public view. (It’s been underway as has John Huber for some time.)

Buck up FRiends and pray for this Republic, our great President and those patriots who are marshaled around him.

IT’S HAMMERIN’ TIME!

I just had a weird feeling again that Trump is totally helpless like Gulliver tied down by tiny cretins:

Hawaian judge,Oregon judge,Mueller,Miss Lindsay Graham and McCain. He cannot act on Hillary emails, immigration, building a wall or sanctuary cities.

And last, his hand picked associates are ruining his life (Guliani,Bannon, the indicted ones Mueller is flipping),previous press spokesmen, Rip Van Sessions and Nicki Haley who said she would not obey his policies if she disagrees.
His enemies can act against him at will and do so vigorously without hesitation. Angry yet?

Sorry but I don’t see any grand secret design by Trump and Sessions.

It reminds me of the Detroit Tiger fans who used to say the old GM Dombrowski (now at Boston) was playing dumb and not getting a good closer until he made a swift deal for the best. They were wrong. He wasn’t playing dumb and the Tigers lost year after year without a good closer. No secret plan.

Still, the operative word in Trump’s tweet was ‘demand’, unlike the older tweets of ‘should’ and ‘why’ that simply barked. It will be quite interesting if Rosy and Sessy blow off this demand by simply responding... something like... “We’ll add it to the pile.”

Just in

The Justice Department asked its watchdog to look into any alleged “impropriety or political motivation” in the FBI’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election, the DOJ said Sunday night — hours after President Trump ordered a review looking into whether federal agents infiltrated or surveilled his campaign for political purposes.

“The Department has asked the Inspector General to expand the ongoing review of the (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) application process to include determining whether there was any impropriety or political motivation in how the FBI conducted its counterintelligence investigation of persons suspected of involvement with the Russian agents who interfered in the 2016 presidential election. As always, the Inspector General will consult with the appropriate U.S. Attorney if there is any evidence of potential criminal conduct,” DOJ spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores told Fox News.

She also released a response from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein: “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action.”

Seems like weasel-wording from Rosenstein. He can always say it was for appropriate purposes.
