The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee slammed President Trump’s claim that there was an FBI informant spying on his presidential campaign.
“The most I can tell you Chuck is that this claim by the president, the suggestion by Giuliani that there is a political spy embedded in the Trump campaign is nonsense,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) told NBC “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd.
Schiff is referring to Trump’s most recent claim that former President Barack Obama used “an embedded informant” to spy on his campaign.
“Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI ‘SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN EMBEDDED INFORMANT.’ Andrew McCarthy says, ‘There’s probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign.’ If so, this is bigger than Watergate!” Trump wrote on Twitter last week, referring to National Review writer Andrew McCarthy.

All indications are that they used an FBI-CIA asset (maybe Stefan Halper) to set up contacts with people like Carter Page for the sole purpose of fabricating a case to begin an extensive phone and electronic surveillance of the Trump campaign.
Of course, this is going down the same silly road we saw already with the "wire tapping" nonsense in early 2017. It's all just a matter of semantics, and these @ssholes are harping over the specifics of a claim just to divert attention from the damning underlying story. By the time all the facts came out, the Democrats were reduced to calling President Trump a moron because the surveillance involved complex electronic monitoring, not simple "wiretaps."
