Schumer: GOP efforts to identify FBI informant 'close to crossing a legal line'
The Hill ^ | 19 May 2018 | Luis Sanchez

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Saturday said Republican lawmakers’ efforts to uncover the identity of an FBI informant in order to obstruct special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation comes close to "crossing a legal line."

Schumer was tweeting his support of a statement from the Senate Intelligence Committee's top Democrat, Mark Warner (Va.), who warned Republican lawmakers against exposing the identity of the informant who gave investigators information about possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Warner said in a separate Twitter thread on Friday, "It would be at best irresponsible, and at worst potentially illegal, for members of Congress to use their positions to learn the identity of an FBI source for the purpose of undermining the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in our election."

Exposing sources “makes it that much harder for every part of the intelligence community to gather intelligence on those who wish to do us harm,” Warner wrote.

The next day, Schumer said Warner's statement was "on the money" and serves as a severe warning to GOP representatives who are trying to tamper with the investigation.

Schumer and Warner’s comments come after a report from the Washington Post alleged President Trump had begun a campaign to expose the role of the informant.

The New York Times reported last week that an FBI informant met with two former Trump campaign advisers, George Papadopoulos and Carter Page.

The Justice Department (DOJ) denied a request earlier this month from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) for details related to the source. DOJ said that releasing such information would put lives at risk and endanger national security.

You noticed that too, huh? Close, but not over. So perfectly legal.

But you missed where Chucky slips in the assumption that outing the spy would necessarily be “in order to obstruct special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation”, as opposed to “in order to shed light on the illegal infiltration of an opponent’s political campaign.”

The more you look at it, the lamer it gets.

These conspirators are showing themselves to be incredibly inept and not particularly bright. They are the Keystone Cops of the Obama’s Regime. Obama loaded up with corrupt, dishonesty loyalists as his minions. He should have made his potential minions take screening IQ tests. Of course, he himself would not do well on that test.

A tinfoil hat moment: They are fighting attempts to expose the identity of the informant because it is McCain and he’s not quite dead yet.

Senator Schumer and his cohorts have “crossed the legal line” in every way imaginable. He and his fellow Marxist scumbags are about to be outed for the seditious traitors they truly are.

The crime of Treason is explicitly defined in the U.S. Constitution; and while what these SOB’s have done is not treason by constitutional definition, it certainly amounts to such in the moral sense of the word.

The 9000-word NYT article, drafted and released as a means of pre-IG report damage control, was so thorough in its description of this “spy,” that we can truthfully state its candor all but “outed” his identity.

Let me tell you, Senator Schumer, that if you take on the American people, we have six ways from Sunday at seeing you end up in a prison cell - or in a grave. Your choice, a$$hole.

I guess Schumer missed the part that the mole was Stefan Halper who was leaked to the NYT in information provided by the FBI DOJ. Now that he name is out why not release the Docs? Could it be the Professor Stefan Halper was a throw away and that there were more moles before, during and even now spying on the president and they do not want that coming out? maybe one of teh moles is sessions given that he has done nothing it would not be a surprise

I have thought Sessions was a plant for sometime now.

There was no other reason for him to jump on the Trump train so early as he did considering that he is a absolute do nothing obstructing corrptocrat.

Jeff Sessions does not support the Trump agenda at all. He’s blocking it.

Ain’t gonna be any Swamp draining as long as Attorney Genital Jeff Sessions is in place.
