Why is it that this administration has such a hard time doing due diligence thorough background so that there is never a problem once sworn in? Would it ever be possible to get people to work for government who never put a toe in the Swamp?
Well, President Trump does trust her, so I'm going with him on Gina Haspel unless she proves to be untrustworthy.
Well, KANSAS trusts her, and Q and POTUS trust her, and the Democrats are really, really scared of her. So, absent some special intelligence on your part, I will go with Pompeo and Trump and trust her.

Remember that the Dems controlled the House and Senate during the last 2 years of Bush 43, and they pretty well tied his hands on everything.

I think that if Trump had responded it would have been a huge story, so I’m guessing he did not.
Personally, I was confident Trump would ignore that request - it’s pretty clear he does not want to be seen as interfering.
He occasionally wants to be seen as furious, frustrated or disappointed, but he never takes any action - there is obviously a hands off policy with the DOJ.
It makes sense if you think of the witch hunt as a sort of medical examination - involving extremely uncomfortable and intrusive procedures. You may be tempted to refuse the examination or insult the doctors and nurses or question their credentials. But your best bet is to lie still, let them probe.
All you want is the clean bill of health and hopefully reduced insurance rates. Maybe your family will stop nagging you to get checked out.
