Really? When I am at the grocers, it seems that quite a bit of the food, especially produce, comes from other countries.
A lot of produce comes from central and South America, especially off season. On season, the trend for the last few years has been to try to source more and more from the US (remember the dust up from country of origin labels?)
For instance, a good amount of the lettuce comes from the Southwest US now.
