The devolution of the Never Trump publication National Review took another move to the left with the publication of a column calling for conservatives to surrender on the issue of transgenderism. Columnist J.J. McCullough is not only calling for conservatives to cave to a ruinous lie, he is smearing conservatives as nasty bigots.
“[I]t feels we’re still in the immature, demagogic phase. In some quarters, it remains fashionable to act theatrically repulsed by transgender people emphasize their weirdness, and make populist appeals to the preposterousness of women asking to be called ‘him’ or surgeons amputating penises and so forth,” he writes.
Not done with us bigots, from on high he writes that, “Part one of the compromise will be borne by cultural conservatives and traditionalists. It asks for broad tolerance for the reality that transgender men and women exist, and are entitled to basic human dignity, just like everyone else.”
McCullough’s Orwellian demand is, if so requested, we blithely agree to identify biological men as woman and vice versa.

For the record, I don’t want them stoned in the public square, nor even shunned, but I will resist this full court press to welcome with open arms and celebrate what is clearly abnormal, aberrant behavior. Enough.

I’m not sure what pollutes our culture more, the National Review or transgenders.

I dont want gays shunned, to an extent.
I WANT deviant folks who need LOTS mental health shunned once they cut their ####s off or add one.
SHUNNED isn’t always a bad word.
Our children should KNOW what they did to themselves and why they are shunned.
SHUNNED is a necessity in society on certain occasion.
Keeping our kids safe and sane is MUCH MORE important than mentally ill deviants being “shunned”
Mental illness should be treated, not celebrated.
At what point do they call for turning over our kids to the state, so that they can be directly indoctrinated? Then the parents can fight other battles, like allowing a 10% increase in Calcium Sulfate in our drinking water standard, so as not to disrupt the operation of farms in Northwestern Nebraska (if there are any there).
Why the hell not?
Yeah, how about no? NR is asking us to suspend our core beliefs. I will NEVER capitulate to ANY leftist doctrine just because “they” think I should.
“They” also think I should disarm. Nope.
Again, from the beginning.
1) Transgenderism is a behavior.
2) Is this a good behavior? discouraged or encouraged? or left alone, or at least left alone by government.
3) Behaviors are complex in their cause because humans are complex.
4) BEHAVIOURS CAN BE MODIFIED!!!!!
Surrendering to an evil enemy results in the evil enemy having the opportunity to destroy everything you hold dear.
That is what National Review is advocating.

These monsters who embrace this do not love or have any real concern about these “transgenders”. To get to the point where your fantasies (no, your mental illness) compels you to actually interfere with your body’s normal course of events which for some includes mutilating themselves—points to an illness so profound it’s right up there with suicide. And that’s a typical outcome for them.
To encourage this behavior instead of helping these people is cruelty beyond cruelty. It’s so easy to be angry with them, but it hurts me to see them suffer so much and nobody cares and call it good when they are clearly mentally sick
As someone far cleverer than me pointed out: would we treat another obvious mental illness like say, anorexia, the way we’re ‘supposed’ to treat transgenderism? Tell them that they are right; they are fat. Give them tips on losing more weight. Prescribe medications to induce vomiting, do surgery to close off part of their stomachs? Encourage their delusion and condemn as intolerant anyone who pointed out that they were in fact deluded?
There can be no surrender on transgenderism or the notion of a free society is doomed.
They don't care about reality. This author is either naive or a convenient acolyte. The number of transgendered is very, very few. The number of publishers pushing redefinition is immense, saturating everything. And they don't care about reality. What they want is a tolerance for redefinition, where they get to decide what things mean, "scientifically" of course. Their definitions have no tolerance for reality.
In a culture war, I guess the normal vast majority must surrender their values to the tiny abnormal minority.
So what they are saying is that we’re not allowed to think what we think.
I would never harm or speak cruelly to such a person, but I would also never believe that this abnormality, or emotional/mental/spiritual illness should be accepted as normal and promoted, especially to the young people.
I am also so unenlightened that I still think it is wrong to commit homosexual acts. I’m going to need extra time in camp to change.
