Youd think the hospital would at least help a mother spell Diamond. That is, if I have the pronunciation right.
Which reminds me... In Iceland, native children must be given a traditional Icelandic first name at birth and keep it until they reach adulthood. Then if they want give themselves a new name, they can have it legally changed.
All to help maintain the countrys traditions and at least give a child a respectable name to live and socialize with until they reach adulthood.
No one wants to be saddled with a banal name. But it beats laboring uphill with one that says more about the parent(s) than the child.
Even when Sue finally caught up with his dad and had it out with him, he _still_ hated that name! :-D
