Plans Appear To Be Moving Forward For Miami-Dade Mega Mall

A mega mall and entertainment complex in Northwest Miami-Dade that would dwarf any other appears to be on course for approval, but not without controversy.

It’s called the American Dream.

It would be the largest mall in the world.

I can't imagine why anyone would build such a thing.

Construction started on the massive Xanadu mall near the Meadowlands Sports Complex in New Jersey back in 2004. The developer went bankrupt, construction was stopped multiple times over the years, and it was finally taken over by the Triple Five Group in 2013 and rebranded as the American Dream Meadowlands.

It's still not completed. The opening date -- originally scheduled for 2006 -- is now March 2019.

Mall of America — ha, ha. Bad comparison. They added an express transit line to make it easier for the ferals in Minneapolis to visit. Guess what happened.

The first 4 minutes or so are about the NY location then the Miami location takes over.

Agreed. Snarky comments are more valued here than informed ones. Fact is, this mall will cater to rich tourists, especially South Americans. That demographic already fills other south florida malls (Aventura and Sawgrass for instance, both doing VERY well). This new Mall will be wildly successful.

Long lines of customers at registers has not been a logistics issue at traditional American shopping malls for several decades.
Good for you about your optimistic outlook about malls. They are likely a relic of the past as they depended on civilized behavior from visitors.
