After many years as a workers comp case manager, I can say for certain that it takes a bad back injury to require a wheelchair or even a walker-multiple discs ruptured, a burst fracture, etc. The less severe ones can be managed quite nicely with a back brace until they heal—I wore one when I had a back injury for a short while myself several years ago. That woman is obese, gets drunk a lot and falls down as a result-maybe it is a brace but my money is on the kevlar vest...
