South Carolina abortion ban bill dies in late-night vote
ABC News ^ | May 4, 2018

South Carolina's Senate has effectively killed a ban on almost all abortions in the state, voting early Friday morning to return the bill to committee.

Five Republicans joined Democrats in the 24-21 vote, which came after Democrats held the Senate floor for an hours-long filibuster. The measure, now dead for this year, would only have allowed abortions in cases of rape, incest or risk of the mother's life.

If the five republicans would have voted for the bill instead of against it it would have passed,

What’s with republicans that support abortion?

Disgusting

If anybody knows the names of ‘Republicans’ who voted for this travesty, please post them and ping me. I’m composing a ‘not nice’ email for them.

Shame on ABC news for not mentioning the names of the RINOs.

Entire post is a pathetic parody, and that's the most benign interpretation.

This mental image seems to fit:

The name of the bill is SC Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act
This republican bill started with the limited scope of stopping
the sadistic partial birth butchery in South Carolina.
Representative Brad Hutto (D) with some risk, got the bill amended to include banning all types of abortion and to polarize the issue.
The democrats then were able to galvanize their forces to stop the bill out right.
The republicans who voted against this bill did so because they claim;
passing the bill would put the state at odds with federal law.
The democrats are playing hardball whilst the republicans sip mint julips.

Abortion cannot be ended until the principle of equal protection under the law for the supreme God-given, UNALIENABLE right is adhered to.

ENOUGH of these immoral, unconstitutional, useless regulatory bills.

Enforce equal protection for ALL, and then tell the courts to GO TO HELL.

It took me forever on a cell phone, but here is the list of all the SC House members, and how they voted.

First on the list is John Courson (R) who did not vote. Then the six republicans who voted Aye, followed by all the other votes.

I included district numbers and a link to each of their biographies. There is much more info on each of them at their bio pages.

I spent a lot of time on this, when I really should have been doing other things, so I hope it gets used.

I forgot to include this link.

I got the list of members from https://www.scstatehouse.gov/member.php?chamber=S

If you go to any member’s bio, there is a link to their voting record.

Thank you, very much, BykrBayb, for doing all of this legwork on finding the names of the REPUBLICANS who voted to kill the abortion ban bill, in South Carolina. Most related articles FAILED to mention any of their names. Hmmmm.

Everyone should call these traitors offices and let them know that the blood of future, murdered innocent lives, are on their hands.

Thank you BykrBayb for that list. The legislature should make a list like this available after every vote in the House and Senate.
