We had a 3 foot long gator swimming in our local reservoir in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania a year or two back.

It was spotted in July. Animal control made several attempts to capture it before they finally gave up in mid September. Then, the gator was out of the news. They found neither a live gator nor a dead carcass thereafter.

Speculation is that some joker drove it up from Florida or Georgia to stock in the reservoir.

Gators are pretty hardy. They are native to Oklahoma and Arkansas. They can survive in the cold for a while, as long as they can break the ice to get air. PA would finish them off.

I recall some time back that in Maine there was a Anaconda on the loose. Has to be Floridaman dropping off critters up north.

PA isn't immune as well.
