Alligator sightings are a common thing if you live in the south, but a wave of the monstrous creatures made their presence felt over the final weekend in April. Several residents in Florida and Texas were sent into a panic as large gators stopped traffic, invaded porches, and even approached a Target store over the weekend.
The alligator invasion started in Florida on April 28, when an “aggressive” 11-foot reptile made its way onto the front porch of home in The Villages near Orlando. “The minute that it seen a person it immediately, you now, started to hiss and come toward the person and as I walked over closer to it, it wanted to bite me,” Al Roberts of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said, via WKMG.

Nah, the ones in the south are not nearly as dangerous to our well being as the ones found in the d.c. swamp.
With climate change upon us it is only a short time before they return to Michigan.

The villages is a retirement community. Mix bright bathing suits, viagra, aging skin, along with lost glasses and anything can happen.
Stay out of their territory and you’ll generally be fine. Do not let your dog roam freely - Gators like the taste of dog and do eat them when given the chance.
Their population really was very low several decades ago but they breed quickly producing a whole clutch of eggs yearly so if hunting is less intense, they can bounce back quickly. Florida and Louisiana probably should sell more Gator tags to hunters to keep numbers under control.
Gators are no big deal here in Florida. We have 2 ponds in our sub-division, and each has a resident gator. There are clear signs posted on banks “Warning: Alligators present” and “Do not Swim in pond”.
The gators in our ponds are wary of people walking on the trail, and swim away when approached. Main thing is not to feed them, because that is when they become dangerous.
All the real big gators are gone in Florida. Fl has been allowing gator hunts for years. That’s why the large ones of note have came from Alabama and other states that have ‘recently’ allowed hunting. Still, people from up north and other areas that don’t have gators simply don’t know that any source of water can have a gator.
Maybe there were 'gator gangs threatening their lives and they had to flee.
Maybe there was starvation, political opposition and Economic repression there.
We have so much, who are we to deny then equal opportunity to affordable housing in safe neighborhoods?
Surely they deserve free health care and the occasional house pet.

DO not worry about man made global warming in Michigan. Michiganders should be much more worried about next ice age, which will bring in several miles thick glaciers on top of Michigan, as was the case during last ice age. Global warming is less likely to kill, ice age is guaranteed destruction of life.

Be careful of them gators that are in the shoe making business.
No longer an endangered species alligators have lost their fear of man.
IMO, they should be exterminated in urban areas and pushed back into the deep swamps.
