The United States is aware of the information just released by Israel and continues to examine it carefully. This information provides new and compelling details about Iran’s efforts to develop missile-deliverable nuclear weapons. These facts are consistent with what the United States has long known: Iran had a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons program that it has tried and failed to hide from the world and from its own people. The Iranian regime has shown it will use destructive weapons against its neighbors and others. Iran must never have nuclear weapons.

So I read all the quotes and can only surmise that ADL and you conflate disagreement with Israel as anti-semetism. And, lamenting the proliferation of Neocons in US Government.

Maybe you are reading something into my comments that isn’t there. I have no idea what’s in Buchanan’s heart, and I never called him a racist or antisemite. I simply stated positions that he has posted on his own blog, or espoused on television. His views on Israel are widely accepted in many parts of the world, including much of the USA.

If I posted there are too many blacks in in the Senate, or too many hispanics on the Supreme Court, would that be racist? If so, what if I said both of these things about Jews? What if you looked further back to the early 80's and found quotes questioning the holocaust, or supporting former Nazis?

I would tend to think that if Blacks and/or Hispanics held those offices at 5-8 times their representation in the general population, nearly everyone would say there were too many there.

But, that’s not what Pat said. He incredulously observed the relative high proportion of Jews in those offices. He did not say there were too many.

Now, he HAS said on numerous occasions there were too many Neocons in government. But, not all Neocons are Jews. I cite Cheney and Rumsfeld as two examples. And there are many more.

Early life

Patrick Buchanan was born in Washington, D.C., on November 2, 1938. His father, William Baldwin Buchanan, was a partner in a Washington, D.C., accounting firm. His mother, Catherine Elizabeth (Crum) Buchanan, was a nurse and a homemaker. Buchanan had six brothers and two sisters. His father taught the children good manners but also encouraged debates and fights. Buchanan would later say that his conservative views and beliefs were shaped by growing up in this large Irish-Catholic family.

Buchanan attended a Catholic elementary and high school, following in the steps of his father and brothers. Deciding to stay in Washington and to continue at a Catholic school, he enrolled in Georgetown University in 1956, studying for a degree in English. In his senior year he received a traffic ticket. Believing that his ticket was wrongfully given, he verbally and physically assaulted the police. He was then arrested and fined, and the incident left him with a minor police record. The university also suspended him for a year.

Once upon a time in Washington DC ...

there was a Catholic family. A boy named Patrick, and two of his brothers, beat a young Jewish boy, calling him "Dirty Jew." When the Jewish boy's mother went to Patrick's mother to complain Patrick's mother said "Well that's what you are, dirty Jews."

Growing up in a family like that one can understand the hero worship of Hitler, the rejection of Vatican II, and the unrelenting assault on Jews and Israel.

And the young Jewish boy, he went on to become a Cardiologist.

How anyone who calls himself a Christian can be anti-Jew is beyond me. Jesus was, is, and always will be, a Jew. So were the apostles. Jews aren’t perfect, but they are the people God chose to be His people, and bring forth His Son. I like Buchanan, but you’re right, he’s off his tree about Jews.
