The White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) is taking heat the day after comedian Michelle Wolf took shots from the stage at presidential press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
A number of observers in attendance felt the former "Daily Show" comedian went over the line with her jokes, which drew heavy conservative fire on Sunday.
White House national security adviser John Bolton slammed the event in an interview with Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday," saying he was happy not to attend.
"Just reprehensible behavior by someone addressing the gathering, and sadly it's par for the course in Washington today," Bolton said.
Fox News reporter Ed Henry called on WHCA to apologize to Sanders.
Other high-profile journalists also criticized the event, and the president of the group that organizes the dinner distanced herself from the material, though she did not offer an apology.

I think I might have seen the problem in another story. Sarah was there with a nice looking gentlemen that I assume was her husband. I’m guessing there’s some jealousy involved ... that she is not only smart and no-nonsense but happily married to a good looking guy.

Some reporter today, I forget who, said that this dinner confirms all of the worst stereotypes of the out of touch elitest media.
You really thought it was mild, what with profanity, abortion jokes, and a number if sexually suggestive jokes?
Oh they know and realize what they are doing...
Their minds are so twisted that the ‘truth’ leaks out....then they scramble even further tying to recover with more lies.... They retain their thoughts on such a frequent and highly false scale, for so long, that they are unable to control the truth when ‘it wants’ to come out........the body never lies...and built up lies will always be evidenced in body language no matter how hard it’s being concealed.

Sarah was stunning I must say......the utter composure she evidenced was amazing throughout the event. The inner dignity, strength and beauty of this woman shows on the outside...and this with a likable sense of true humor.
It is no wonder at all she is with the husband she has. She is a strikingly good looking inner woman that radiates outwardly. You can’t get that on a treadmill!

I think FOX News needs to play - over and over - the ‘dancing Michelle Obama’ on the Ellen Show and have Ms. Wolf explain why there was a flopping pant-sausage on full display and why it wasn’t mentioned at a White House Correspondence Dinner when Barry was in office.
I’m not so sure you know what the words “very mild” means. Coarse, crass, just vicious not amusing seem more apt. Plus that voice... ay yi yi! Plus, if I was going to deliver any spoken content to a nationwide audience I think I could manage to do it without ready the content off cards

I like Sarah, too. She has had good parenting along the way, too, and it shows.
I didn’t say it was funny, nor did I say it was my cup of tea.
But it is a standup comedy set at the WHCD. These things are always ribald and offensive. That’s kind of the whole point.
Clutching our pearls and heading to the fainting couch is not a good look for us.
Trump can dish it out with the best of them. We should show that we can take it as well.
This woman was so vile, repulsive, vulgar, hateful, how can it be acceptable and shown on Youtube without being banned for hate speech, vulgarity, pornographic, and against all their rules? Incredible how low the left has become and on its way down the toilet. Flush this dinner and I would not want to be in a thunderstorm standing next to anyone that laughed at her jokes.
I agree. There is no need for the organization anymore. The WH can just email the “journalists” whatever they have to put out.

Every Friday evening, he should go on CSPAN to report to the nation the activities of the week. This would be much more informative than having to deal with cretins such as Jim Acosta and April Ryan, who only want face time while they attack everything the President does.

It wasn't that they didn't think ahead. It just never occurred to them that anyone would see anything wrong with this. No one that they associate with professionally or personally would have been offended.
