Another apostate church withers on its way to an inexorable death. People local to DFW will notice the numerous plugs for Wilshire Baptist on radio stations as they desperately try to stem the bleeding.

He is lying and should not be a Baptist Preacher - he knew full well he would be severed from the Baptist Convention but being a greedy plate grabbing “Gotta-a-Great-Gig” cowboy, he probably is a liberal as they come.

"But Mason's main point of rebuttal, according to Vicari, seems to be that churches across the country are struggling with attendance."
Churches are struggling with attendance because there are very few that preach and teach a true gospel. If they did, I'll bet people would be beating down the doors.
See my tagline.

"open to all, closed to none." What the hell does that even mean, except to some kind of vague, cheap virtue-signalling gesture? Our world runs on these empty slogans now - politics, religion, commerce.

All sinners are welcome in my church. Just don’t expect us to affirm your sin and pretend it’s alright.

Why be Christian if all lifestyles are equal?
People who want a liberal church can join a mainline denomination.
If you want commitment to a Bible-believing lifestyle, there are options.
That Baptist church doesn’t represent it.

I am tired of the LGBTQIDIOTs. While sinners belong in church (thank God!), that is only once they are at least close to ready to repent, not when they are still celebrating and recruiting to expand their numbers.

It’s my old church. Certainly, not what they taught when I went there. They even had boys and girls swimming in different pools back then.

The article has some good notes, but the underlying message is that they lost 250+ members who tithed $700K per year. They gained 100 new members because of the announcement. What are the odds they made up the gap? I'm doubting they didn't because, as a whole, Millennial's do not tithe.

The church's slogan is now "Open to all, closed to none."
Funny, that was the slogan of a girl I knew back in the old neighborhood.

A still dead soul leading a local ekklesia, embracing what God has defined as an abomination in His sight. And now the dead soul pastor rgerets the embrace? Son, GOD is not mocked. You are under the Party Central sentence: Mene mene tekel upharsin. Get on your knees man, not the media. ONLY Jesus can redeem you. The media serve the father of lies for whom you have been working.

Big difference between accepting those who acknowledge and struggle with their sin and those who want the body to acknowledge and applaud the sin.
The church is a body of sinful people who have been redeemed and are growing in Christ. Homosexuals, murderers, thieves, idolators, workaholics, cheaters, liars, etc. We’re all in the church. But we are allowing the grace of God’s Spirit to daily renew and change us.

“open to all, closed to none.”
As a practicing satanist, I’ll come to your church and whizz in the baptismal fount. Is that ok with y’all?

A church accepting and advocating homosexuality would be like a branch of Alcoholics Anonymous accepting and advocating binge drinking.

There is no such thing as homosexuality. Sexuality is intrinsically related to reproduction, and two persons of the same sex intrinsically cannot reproduce.
I call it homoeroticism. A fellow FReeper calls it homosensuality.
