Former NFL kicker Jay Feely says a photo of him holding a pistol while standing between his daughter and her prom date was intended to be a joke. Feely posted the photo on Twitter Saturday. The photo shows him standing with his arm around his daughter and with the gun in his other hand, next to his daughter's date.
But, some people thought he crossed a line.
On Sunday, Feely, now a commentator for CBS, wrote that the couple, who have dated for over a year, knew he was joking.
He says he takes gun safety seriously and the gun was not loaded. He says he did not intend to be "insensitive" to the gun control issue.

I agree. I’ve had several arguments with gunowners that say we just have to be nice and explain things. It’s a waste of time they hate us, so we’d be better off to not even acknowledge them.
Took my 10 year old out to shoot her first 22 this past weekend, you think I am going to apologize to some left wing busy body for it? Hell no.
She enjoyed it, will do it again, and if she shows aptitude for it, will encourage her to pursue it just as I would any other experience in life. If she doesn’t, I have at least exposed her to the basics so she won’t grow up some panty waste scared just because there is a gun in the vicinity and hopefully won’t drag a limp wristed panty waste who is scared of a gun home in the future either.

The father of my grandson’s prom date was sitting in his driveway pretending to clean his shotgun when he came to pickup his daughter. Everyone thought it was funny. The father was an assistant coach on the football team and my grandson was a player. They also all attended the same church. Everyone got a laugh out of his prank. It was all in fun.
Liberals seem to have a great deal of difficulty having fun.
Jay made a mistake by apologizing.
You don’t apologize to scumbag liberals. It’s a sign of weakness, and only makes them go after you more and more.

We have got to stop this apology nonsense. These people getting bent out of shape don’t care if you apologize or not. They hate guns and hate that you have guns. Nothing is ever going to change their opinion so just shine them on!
Except when I lived in the country back when I started dating, I actually experienced that several times.
