Ward Churchill is/was a fake Indian activist who taught ethnic studies at University of Colorado-Boulder.
He was fired in 2007 for research misconduct.
He had been given an “Associate” membership by one of the cherokee tribes. He used that to claim membership in good standing as a native american.
The tribe has since distanced themselves from him and stopped giving associate memberships.
Churchill is as much cherokee as I am Hasidic Jew.

When I see Churchill, I think of the great statesman and orator. Maybe there’s a whole tribe of bogus Cherokees somewhere. Wonder what their tribal rites look like.
