Even after the passing of former first lady Barbara Bush, agents with the Secret Service reportedly remained by her side.
As Bush’s casket lay in St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Texas, she was flanked by agents who were among the members of her personal detail, local outlet KTRK reported.
This, as thousands of people paid their respects Friday to the wife of former President George H.W. Bush during a public viewing. A funeral was held for her on Saturday.
Secret Service agents were going to stay with her until she was buried, the outlet said.
A former Secret Service agent and member of Bush’s detail, Thom Bolsch, spoke to the outlet and described her as “one of the most gracious people we’ve ever protected.”
“She went out of her way to make us feel like part of the Bush family,” he continued. “It was just a wonderful relationship we had.”

Ignoring politics for a moment, George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush were at the top the list as far as being friendly and being appreciative of the efforts of those protecting them. Everyone around them loved working with them and that is not an exaggeration, and it’s why you see agents standing beside her even in death.

Melania took 2 guests with her to the funeral-—2 persons still working in the White House who also worked for Barbara Bush. Melania is a class act. It meant alot to those 2 White House workers.

Barbara Bush was born upper middle class, a descendent of previous Presidents and other famous Americans, yet she lived in a society that was united in its cultural outlook. Americans accepted and lived the founding ideals of the Republic and Christian morality, and class divisions were small.
Calvin Coolidge was a country lawyer who returned to his home of Plymouth Notch after his Presidency. Harry Truman was a farmer who also studied classical piano.
It would be an unpardonable sin for Barbara Bush to treat someone working for her condescendingly.
These attitudes of American egalitarianism are dying with these people, because of the growth of the American Empire, our massive government and the rise of our oligarch classes.

The funeral has happened, so now I’ll weigh in on this silliness. You ride a pretty high horse, she wasn’t a deity and as a country we have no royalty for good reason. Was she culturered, gentele, old school yes, above reproach? Hell No! She was not without faults, big faults.
Speaking the truth of the dead, you tell us when YOU believe it would be ok to speak the truth? A day,a week, a month, a year? How long should we wait before we may utter the truth re: someone who is dead? Is it because she was only the spouse of a politician? Does that make it different? Does that place get above reproach? There is no logic to your position.
No wonder the left wins. They are the only ones that are completely committed. They never rest, they never pause, and they never use decorum. That is why they are winning. They are not weak, they are unrelenting, and necessary lose sight of their goal. At some point the gloves have to come off if we desire to win, perhaps you lack the same desire as others of those here on FR.
Our loss of the country will be certain while we are restricted in warfare that dictates the use manners and civility. What a terrible set of rules of engagement. Losing our country while being nice, isn’t that what most people make light of Chamberlain? He played being civil and took Hitler at his word. That worked out well in history, didn’t our?
