The Justice Department’s inspector general has referred Andrew McCabe to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, D.C., for a possible false-statements prosecution....
He lied about leaking a conversation in which the Obama Justice Department pressured the FBI to stand down on an investigation of the Clinton Foundation....
...the then–deputy director was stung by a Wall Street Journal story that questioned his fitness to lead an investigation of Hillary Clinton, the Democrats’ nominee. McCabe’s wife had received $675,000 in donations....
...Back in July, according to [WSJ reporter] Barrett’s sources, McCabe had instructed agents to refrain from making overt moves that could alert the public that Hillary Clinton, the Democrats’ nominee, was yet again on the FBI’s radar — this time, owing to a probe of the Clinton Foundation.
Barrett’s call came in just as the Bureau was dealing with the controversy over Director James Comey’s reopening of the Clinton emails investigation....
McCabe instructed Page to rebut Barrett’s story with a leak. Specifically, she was to tell Barrett about a tense conversation on August 12, 2016, between McCabe and a high-ranking Obama Justice Department official. The leak would show that McCabe, far from burying the Clinton Foundation investigation, had defended the FBI’s pursuit of it....
Lisa Page told the Wall Street Journal that the PADAG [Matthew Axelrod] was “very pissed off” because the Justice Department had learned that the FBI’s New York office was “openly pursuing the Clinton Foundation probe.”
Yup, the campaign stretch-run was upon us, and the oh-so-non-partisan Obama Justice Department was fretting that Mrs. Clinton could be toast if the public heard about yet another criminal investigation....
Yet, however steely-spined he may have seemed to Axelrod, McCabe did issue a “stand down” order — at least according to agents down the chain of command, the Journal reported.

After being informed of the discovery of the emails in September 2016, the FBI sat on it, hoping to run out the clock until after Hillary was safely elected.
The NYPD was shocked by the FBI's behavior, and leaked to the press that these emails had been found on Weiner's laptop, forcing the hand of Corrupt Comey in late October 2016.
Loretta Lynch was furious at the NYPD, and it appears threatened to use a DOJ investigation into the death of Eric Garner while being arrested by the NYPD as an avenue for obtaining revenge on the NYPD if they refused to back off.

Who's doing the investigating on this behind the scenes per the Utah prosecutor. But nah, it's better for you to throw a cheap-shot at him.

Yeah right. According to Sessions’ own description, Huber is merely evaluating allegations. There is nothing Sessions has said to even suggest a real investigation by Huber such as would involving assigned FBI agents to actually gather evidence or the empanelling of a grand jury.
If Sessions were not playing a delay game he would have started a real criminal investigation many months ago.
The IG doesn’t have the power to gather evidence that a prosecutor and a grand jury have.
Sessions has arranged it exactly backwards - if he were serious, a prosecutor would have started collecting evidence long ago, and the IG with its much more limited powers could piggyback on that for the limited purposes of the IG (such as recommending improved policies and procedures for the DOJ as a result of what is ultimately learned).
Claiming he is holding back a real criminal investigation in order to let the IG complete its work and piggyback off that is transparently a delaying tactic by Sessions.

I don't need to. If Trump wanted Sessions gone, he would have done so months ago.
He WANTED Sessions to be as independent as possible and to work behind the scenes so the Left and media and GOP establishment won't be screaming that Sessions is in Trump's pocket.
