Levenson said he was at Mrs. Bush's beside in her Houston home with her husband, former President George H.W. Bush, and other family members on Tuesday when she died around 6 p.m. at the age of 92.
"It was a lovely, gracious, tender, precious death," he told ABC News. "And we were all ... praying together, we were all with her. The president was holding her hand and we were all saying 'I love you.' And she slipped very gently from this life to the next."

President Donald Trump -- who called Mrs. Bush "an advocate for the American family" -- ordered flags at the White House and at all federal government buildings lowered to half-staff Wednesday as the nation mourned the death of Mrs. Bush, who served as the first lady of the United States from 1989 to 1993.
Jean Baker, chief of staff at the Office of George H.W. Bush, said the 41st U.S. president was holding up, but grieving.
"Obviously, this is a very challenging time," Baker added. "But it will not surprise all of you who know and love him, that he also is being stoic and strong, and is being lifted by his large and supportive family. He is determined to be there for them as well. He appreciates all the well wishes and support."
On Saturday, mourners, including dignitaries from around nation and world, will fill the church, a Gothic-style cathedral with 36 stained glass windows modeled after the 13th century St. Elizabeth's Church in Marburg, Germany.
The 27,630-square-foot sanctuary, the largest Episcopal church in North America, seats about 1,500 people.

May the ex-first lady, Barbara Bush rest in peace forever. I was surprised that only about 6,000 folks paid homage & final respect to her yesterday as she was laid out on display in a most respected church.
The Bush dynasty has actually downgraded its high standing among the American people by being so vicious, mean, hateful, envious, and unacceptable to POTUS, Donald J. Trump and his wife and family. I suspect that when Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Barack Hussein Obama, Michelle Obama, the Bushes, the Carters, pass on, the American public turn out will be nothing of note. Sad days for our great republic.
I remember when Ronald Reagan passed away, and thousands upon thousands of Americans stopped their cars and trucks on the freeways of California and saluted him as the motorcade carrying his remains passed by. Not so....for the Bushes, etc.,....SAD!!! Hate & Envy are evil traits to carry through life!!!

Barbara Bush: I'm sick of Donald Trump
In 2016, Barbara's son, Jeb, was running against Trump in the Republican presidential primary. In February of that year, Barbara and Jeb sat down for a televised interview with CNN. During the interview, Barbara was asked her thoughts about Trump, who had repeatedly been attacking her son in the media. Barbara did not hold back at all when revealing her feelings about Trump, particularly as they related to his treatment of women. As the former first lady put it:
"He doesn't give many answers to how he would solve problems. He sort of makes faces and says insulting things ... He's said terrible things about women, terrible things about the military. I don't understand why people are for him, for that reason. I'm a woman ... I'm not crazy about what he says about women."
Barbara Bush is dead and may she rest in peace but I have not respect and a great deal of disgust for Barbara, her husband and her sons who sold out America to their Globalist buddies and left Her weaker and more embattled that they found her.

I agree, may she Rest in Peace. Beyond that, I have nothing positive to say about her or her family; the lot of them would have been nowhere but for our President Reagan and they have no appreciation whatever. Now they use every opportunity to bash Trump - real sour sore losers who got much further in life than they ever deserved to given their lack of talent, brains and common decency.

The Bush Family is classless. All former POTUS’ invited but not Trump. Really a petty move. The real question is what will they do when 41passes away? Will they disinvite Trump? Barbara Bush was hateful in her own way to Trump. Bushes have been playing this class and dignity off for years when they exhibit anything but.
