‘They Were Never Going to Let Me Be President’
New York Times ^ | April 20, 2018 | By AMY CHOZICK

Subtitle: Covering Hillary Clinton’s campaign from before it started to the very last moment.

Things were already looking bad when Chelsea Clinton popped the Champagne. It was just after 9 p.m. on election night and she was having her hair and makeup done in the family’s suite at the Peninsula hotel. She stopped to pour what somebody told me was Veuve Clicquot into everyone’s glasses, figuring that in a couple of hours Donald Trump’s run of early victories in red states (West Virginia, Oklahoma, Alabama) would end and the map would turn back in her mom’s favor.

Three hours later, the Rust Belt was awash in red, and somebody had to tell Hillary Clinton.

Robby Mook, the drained and deflated campaign manager, told his boss she was going to lose. She didn’t seem all that surprised.

“I knew it. I knew this would happen to me,” she said, now within a couple of inches of Mr. Mook’s ashen face. “They were never going to let me be president.”

In July 2013, Jill Abramson, the former executive editor of The New York Times, put me on the “Hillary beat” ahead of the 2016 election. It was 649 days before Mrs. Clinton would announce she was running for president again, 1,226 days before she would lose to Mr. Trump.

Every major life decision in my 20s and 30s — when to get married, where to buy an apartment, whether to freeze my eggs until after the election — had revolved around a single looming question: What about Hillary Clinton?

I think we need a televised round table of Hitlery, Billy Boy, Obamas, Nancy P., Chucky Schummer, Maxine W, Pocahontas and Blabbermouth Schultz discussing what happen with the election. Would be comedy of the century.

“Yep sometimes the voters aren’t completely awash with stupidity”

EXCEPT some of these same people voted for Obama, TWICE.

IMHO, the Good Lord intervened and gave us another chance.

Again, IMHO, we’re wasting that chance. Way too much he said she said and not nearly enough results oriented actions. Talk is cheap and worthless. Indictments, trials and prison time are not. Let’s GO!

"The best thing that Donald Trump has ever done is save the country from a Hilary Clinton presidency..."

Trump destroyed both the Clinton Dynasty and the Bush Dynasty.

The big story here is that she wanted to run against Trump because she thought he would be easier to beat.

If she'd gotten Marco or Ted or Jeb the nomination, she probably would have won.

I tell people, “95% of what I wanted from a Trump presidency, he accomplished on election night. Anything else good is just gravy.”

Totally agree. Not because of Trump - but because of pathetically weak GOP leadership, Marxists dressed as democrats, Judicial tyrants, and the Administrative State.

President Trump has held up remarkably strong against these obstructionists.

He held all of the Red States and took 3 blue ones including Penn.

It looked a lot closer then it was.

He won with over 300 ev's.

Had Hillary won with that many, it would have been considered a landslide and mandate.
