I wouldn't pick nits over it. I'm a network technician, and when things go to hell and I get them under control I'm always treated like a hero myself. It's people's way of saying they're grateful.
In "hero" terms, the person I usually think of is that Leonard Skutnik, a passerby who jumped into a freezing river to save a woman following the crash of Air Florida Flight 90 ... just an ordinary Joe who transcended fear and the natural concern for his own safety to do something that he believed to be right.
Yeah, my thoughts too. I’m glad she was able to land safely but they train for this, it isn’t a miracle. For the pilot it was probably a normal landing, I don’t believe there was much damage to anything else.
One pic I saw while on decent, showed the cowling, before it tore off, hanging over the wing near the root. Thats gotta mess with the handling, and indeed, the article stated that the plane went into a 41 degree roll straight away.
This wasnt a flame out, or compressor stall, situation. Flight dynamics were compromised.
