What makes the guns illegal? I am confused. And how is 50,000 rounds “unprecedented”? You can buy .22 ammunition in 1,000 round boxes.

As usual they don’t tell us what about these guns was illegal. I see what looks like a Thompson there but is it fully automatic or just semi automatic? Was the guy a felon in possession or just a guy who likes guns.

Officers with the 81st Precinct in the Bayside area of Queens

The 81st Pct is in Bed Sty, Brooklyn, not Bayside, Queens.

If I am not mistaken Most of those black rifles are not legal in the peoples republic of NY Or possibly he was convicted of a felony? Or his Spiteful Ex turned him in for domestic abuse? In any case he will spend more time in Jail than a gang banger that shoots someone.

Using men with guns to seize guns because guns are bad. If owning 60+ guns is a crime in NYC, what’s the legal number of guns one can own?

“This stockpile of weapons poses a great risk to the residents of Queens.” Official Police statement.

There’s your defense. Ammo and guns are not a risk.
Only the owner can be deemed a risk.

If he is mentally sane and stable, no problem.
Oh, sorry, forgot which state we’re talking about. The guy’s gonna hang.

” illegal firearms”

Many I see in the pic are perfectly legal.
So pretty much they’re admitting that they see all firearms as illegal.

Why are these weapons illegal?
A few months back there was a story of an Australian bloke arrested for 2 scoped sniper rifles and over 10000 rounds of ammunition. He had 2 Crosman Benjamin air rifles and 20 tins of pelletsat 500 pellets per tin.

“This stockpile of weapons poses a great risk to the residents of Queens. It is extremely disturbing to find such an arsenal of firearms in a residential community.”

What a load of crap.

a couple of airguns and 50,000 rounds of ammunition.

I think I might have about 50,000 “rounds” of ammunition for my Daisy hand pump AR .177. It hold at least 100 rounds in the chamber.
