I wonder how long the signs were there warning whites that things were going to go pear shape for them? I wonder how many dismissed the warnings as paranoia?
Reading this article it has become obvious, AS STATED BY THE AUTHOR, that the injustice is related to “corrupt tribal leaders making deals with mining companies””. The majority of farmers are white (less so than before apartheid, but it’s a glacial shift. Now, let be known that those white farmer families began farming hundreds of years ago, when blacks weren’t farming.
IMHO, this is all about ‘bad deals’ made by corrupt blacks. Now, innocent hard working white people should fix it because they have succeeded. Racism here is enourmous, but it’s not white racism, it’s black racism and black corruption and failures. THIS IS WHAT BLACK SOCIALIST are about, from Obama on down. See it, identify it, and condemn it......or else expect the same fate as Zimbabwe.
Where my wife worked in Seattle, over her tenure there, five people were fired. All of them were fire for cause, and in every case my wife would come home and say “so and so is gonna get fired if she keeps doing this.”
The interesting thing is that three of them were white and two were black, and only two of them sued. Yep. It was both of the black women, suing because they claimed they were discriminated against because of their race.
I don’t take racial discrimination claims seriously any more. I haven’t for a long time. I’ve seen a lot more than just those two cases in my life. It is repugnant. This guy was almost certainly turned away not because of his race, but because of other factors like, for example, not being a customer.
I’m a white guy. I don’t try to use the restroom in a downtown location with a locked bathroom without purchasing something. There is a reason it’s locked.

I don’t accept the premise if the article. As I understand, there were no blacks living there when the Dutch settled SA. If anything, the blacks are the land thieves.

Yep. Only surprise here is that it took as long as it did. I’d have expected things to degenerate in a matter of months, not decades.
My understanding is that the only truly indigenous people to that part of Africa are the San and Nama tribes. Both of these were pretty small in numbers and one of them (I can’t remember which) was semi-nomadic, so they only spent part of their time in the Cape region.
If that is true, then everyone else in South Africa, black or white, is a descendent of immigrants.

There were no indigenous populations when the Boers arrived. They built up the land and the irrigation and the mining, tribesmen from the northern areas came down to work and eventually all of those immigrants took over. They have no more intrinsic right to that land than the Boers do if they use that argument.

I just read at least half of the comments (comments have been closed) and not a single one I could see agreed with the article or had any love for the writer.
Which explains the current 1 dollar going price for Newsweek. (And I mean the whole company, not just one magazine)
