Those aren’t oil pipelines, those are for natural gas according to the symbols.

“Russia can haul all the hardware they want into Syria...As long as there are no more chemical weapons attacks, that’s fine...”

I’m guessing that’s pretty much the way Trump feels about it too ... No one in their right mind wants to experience the consequences of the power vacuum of a failed Syria should Assad be removed and the lid comes off ...

It is in US interests for the regime in Syria to acquire control of all the territory within its borders. In fact, that is the ONLY interest we have there.

What is your handle on the Ancient Aliens Fan Club forum?

Doesn't have one; we kicked him out when we discovered he was Flat Earther.

I hate to say aliens, but...no; it was RUSSIANS!

Are you telling me that you can’t believe in Ancient Aliens and a flat earth?

What happened to tolerance? What happened to diversity?

If I were Russian, and my primary concerns were a warm-water port on the Med and control over pipelines, I’d set up Assad and send in the land arms to secure the country. And, I’d treat the US CBW bombing as an annoyance and a necessary concession to what’s left of Western Christian values.

After Syria was a secure client, with my Med port and my pipeline control, I’d relax.

Is my view of the Russian rationale reasonable?

The problem I see is that Russia does not border Syria. They need to develop a way to get goods to and from that warm-water port. And all the routes go through mohammedan country. There is no love lost between the islamics and the Russians, as we have seen from the Chechen unrest.

Does it really matter to the parents of dead kids if the kids died from gas or a bomb? This is insane. Get the US out of there and let the rest of them fight. The US has no interests in Syria.

There are some things just too ignorant to tolerate.

We can and have proven the earth is not flat; as for ancient aliens, it is not possible to prove a negative, so we MIGHT be right.

And, if one considers angels who left their rightful place of habitation without authorization to be illegal aliens, then we aren’t wrong.

Jimmy Carter

As long as that regime isn't an Iranian client like Assad.

That nightmare people were talking about Jimmy Carter having let happen has come true, Iran is taking over the Middle East.

Well, that’s definitely logic I can’t argue with.

New or old, let me just say, I welcome our alien overlords!

Yeah, you’re right...let them develop all the chemical weapons they want...After all, it was just Syrian kids, wasn’t it???

Let’s just sit back and let anyone gas or kill whoever they want and build their strength through acquisition of weapons and personnel...They can take over whole regions and, even though they want to kill Americans, they aren’t here.......................Yet...

Re the 500 miles from Russia to Syria:

I agree it’s a consideration. But a secure, major naval base is one end of the link. The second piece is some working arrangement with Iran, who is the main power in the area, along with Turkey, who wants to rebuild the Ottoman Empire bit by bit, by chewing off pieces of Syria.

That would leave some uncivilized territory in western Syria (ISIS remnants... and the so-called Free Syrian army factions), who are being suppressed by all parties. I see a pipeline and protected rail/highway route as possible, if occasionally risky.

It was either the US or the UK that sold them the weapons. Perhaps we should start by not doing that. All Muslims want to kill Americans, and we are abetting it by allowing Islam here. That is the real threat to our country.

I think those chemical weapons were developed there in Syria...

Are you saying the US and/or UK sold Syria chemical weapons???????

Sorry, I goofed. The US sold chemical weapons to Saddam. According to reports, Russia and Germany helped Syria develop chemical weapons. It doesn’t seem to me that any country has a right to moral superiority on this topic. The kids bombed in Yemen by weapons we supply to Saudi Arabia are just as dead. The rest are being starved to death.

It is just as likely that the anti-Assad forces used them. This isn’t the first time a chemical weapons attack popped up just as the US announced it was going to leave. Always ask who benefits.

I put journal editorial report on the pvr, but I think I’m going to cancel the recordings from now on. All the quests are asking why didn’t Trump do more and actually suggesting playing chicken with the Russians. A bunch of warmongering neocons.

Agree.

It seems a lot of the hawk faction believes in a magical, ever-expanding US economy, come what may, and whoever perishes on the battlefield..?

Well, it's not THEIR kids, so....that's okay.

Oh..!

And if the US fights a war on behalf of a foreign country..?

ThatsFineCuzBible.
