NBC: Rod Rosenstein Ready to Be Fired
Newsmax ^ | 13 Apr 2018 | Jeffrey Rodack

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is fully aware he may be fired soon and is at peace with the possibility, NBC News is reporting.

The news network attributed the information to a source who has spoken to Rosenstein.

That sources, and two others, said they have spoken to him numerous times during his tenure as deputy attorney general. And they note he now seems less anxious than in previous times President Donald Trump has been critical of him.

Will he get his pension, or will Trump say, “No soup for you!”

Rosenstein seems unlikely to be impoverished by firing. Half of DC has likely offered him millions to become a DC “consultant.”

Muller runs RosenWeasel who runs Sessions.

He’s in a box now - let him twist in the wind of that box for a few more months... Maybe a job in a room without a window and a phone that never rings...

Color me skeptical. Why would NBC be reporting this now? And what is it that they're actually reporting? "Ready to be fired" - what does that mean? It isn't even news.

Only speculating here, but one thing that might put the skids under Rosenstein would be the disclosure of his signature on the abusive FISA warrants. Not just the rumors we've been hearing, but actual evidence. If this outrageously crooked system is to be kept alive one of the occupants might have to be thrown to the wolves. That also helps to isolate Rosenstein from the people who merrily leak information to the media when it suits their politics, as well as the media to whom they leak it.

All that is just speculation, though. But this story isn't innocent, that I'd bet the boat on.

“He could bow out gracefully but then he couldn’t collect unemployment.”

He is eligible for max pension already. Over 20 years of service, over the age of 50.

I agree with what you state, and will add that I have always thought that Rosenstein set up Trump to fire Comey, which would give Rosenstein an excuse to appoint Mueller.

Further, he is both in charge of the investigation into obstruction arising out of the Comey firing AND a witness in that case - because his memo provided Trump no realistic option other than firing Comey.

That said, Rosenstein’s memo, and the factual support for it, gives Trump a complete defense to the obstruction charge as it relates to Comey. And if you want to discredit Comey, Rosenstein does that for you.

So why now discredit Rosenstein?

Strategic deception. Part of the OIG report is set to drop today, regarding McCabe.

Have a special showing of Trumps old board room show. Bring him in and Trump says, “ YOU’RE FIRED”.

The Associate AG would serve in an interim capacity as the Deputy AG until a permanent replacement was named.

Interestingly, the Associate AG (Rachel Brand) resigned in February -- so her replacement is only an interim appointee.

The current acting Associate Attorney General is Jesse Panuccio, former general counsel to Florida Gov Rick Scott. I can't see why he wouldn't be a thousand times better than Rosenweasel.

Rosenswamp should have been fired and arrested about five minutes after Sessions was confirmed.

"So after Trump has someone fire Rosenstein, who does he appoint in his place? Does the Deputy AG spot remain vacant until a replacement is appointed or does someone move up and become acting Deputy AG?"

I read that the President can appoint whomever he wants if they have already been confirmed by the Senate, for anything.

He’s undoubtedly gearing up to write his tell-all book about how long POTUS’ tie is.

Where does NBC come off with the spin "He's at peace with the decision"?

This is a major developement, and the man is a disgrace. If it had been a Republican, NBC would have said "He left in shame".

sessions needs to be fired too. calling him “incompetent”
is being polite.

mark levin, who has been personal friends with sessions for
30 years, said he “needs to resign”.
