Ideally, yes. We’d like to think it runs that way. Ever watch COPS? If you have gun and he finds it on a traffic stop, you’re going to lose it, end of story. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the trunk in a case unloaded, they’re taking it and you’ll have to litigate to get it back. They drive away from every traffic stop just about breaking their arm patting themselves on the back and going on about, “Got another gun off the street. That gun would’ve been used to kill somebody tonight, we did good...”
Kid is a junior in high school so it isn’t his gun, was purchased illegally or the parents should be ticketed for letting their house ape threaten people with one of their guns.
They should charge the kid with a felony assault...this would keep him from purchasing his own guns next year since he has demonstrated he shouldn’t be anywhere near firearms.
Considering that the kid made a terroristic threat on social media, that search/arrest warrant would be signed by a judge in the time that it would take him to reach for a pen. Life is hard. Life is a lot harder when you’re stupid.
