Sweden drafts proposal to rid Syria of chemical weapons 'once and for all'
AFP (France), The Local (Sweden) ^ | 13APR18 | AFP (France), The Local (Sweden)

Under a 2013 US-Russia deal that averted US-led strikes, Syria agreed to give up its chemical weapons stockpile and sign the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) which bans the use of toxic gases in warfare. The United States, Britain and France accuse Syria of violating those commitments by carrying out chemical attacks and failing to fully disclose its stockpile. The Swedish-drafted text calls for the establishment of an investigative panel to identify the perpetrators of chemical weapons use in Syria after Russia this week vetoed a US proposal to set up such a mechanism.

I know thre are conspiracy theories about Germany fighting a new kind of war. But I have dismissed it as conspiracy talk so far. Perhaps i’m wrong.

The militias supported by Turkey in Idlib province arejihadis, one step lower than Iz state but still pro-Sharia and “Christians to the sea, Alawites to the grave” type.

re: Germany’s new war. Germany through the EU is taking over the European economy. They’re allowing a lot of Turks in and trying to flood the rest of Europe with invaders who’ve over-run Germany, France and a few other wealthy EU countries. German banks and the possibility of a European military populated by mideasterners are what’s winning.

“The only possible reason I’d want to get rid of Assad is so I could personally take in his hot wife as a refugee.”

That is the FIRST rational reason I’ve seen for risking nuclear war with Russia. The Neocons here just want to do it for sport (maybe they’re sick of the NFL types taking knees and need some new entertainment?).

...but my preference, overall, is to still blow the whole thing off and get out.

Exactly. Tyrants torture and kill their own people, and they control most of the world. Containment is the most we’ve ever done, including Russia and China.

Seems I remember this very same thing a couple of years ago. So, Syria really didn’t give them up? I vote...ignite them.

So? Under a 2013 US-Russia deal that averted US-led strikes, Syria agreed to give up its chemical weapons stockpile and sign the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) which bans the use of toxic gases in warfare. How’s that working for us?

And if that doesn’t make you laugh, the five permanent seats established in the 1940’s on the counsel are China, the largest makers of bio warfare products in the world, France, one of the top chemical producers on earth of resin and sarin gas, Russia, nuff said there, The UK who are also in the running for production of chemical weapons, and the US who gave VX to Iraq to fight Iran in the early 80’s. (And we still haven’t recovered or destroyed all of it).

When the five main members of the committee (Security counsel) to pass on a concern have a vested interest in trying to manipulate the situation there since the early 1960’s and before, will anyone ever see the Swedish proposal in the main body? Not as they wrote it. That one will be watered down so bad the saturated pages will fall apart on the way to the room.

More squeals from European feminists and their girlie-men sidekicks count for squat in the outcome of the fight.

If it’s time for Armageddon, nothing President Trump could do would stop it. If God does not want that to happen yet, nothing Trump does will make it happen. Either way, I’m more than happy to see God’s will. If this is something God chooses to let us decide, then my vote is to stay out and let the people who have an interest in the outcome fight among themselves.

Stay out and let the Mother Church of Russia and Islamist Iran and Syria settle their private difference about Jerusalem with Israel without meddling on our part? I think not.
