Britain got us dragged into WWI.
Yup....me too....something.
I’d bet Putin would love to take out a British submarine after Theresa May’s accusations recently.
World War III, over a doubtful gas report?
Aren’t subs supposed to be stealthy.
The poodles are always bad news.
at least in 1914, they had some style, these days they are an embarrassment
“Heard that the Russians are hightailing it outta town.”
Or they’re going to sea to prepare to make good on the promise of attacking anything that launches missiles.
(Hard to do that in port)
Only if you give "One Ping Only"
Soros is smiling.
However, I don't see Putin or Russia taking humiliation by the Allies any more than Nicholas II, Stalin, or Khrushchev would have. Either Trump will offer a face saving measure after a bluff, or the Russians may move on Georgia, Ukraine, or the Baltic States.
In before you get called a "Kaiser-lover" by some neo-con here yapping for another war in a far-off land.
They are deployed to sea in a defensive, linked position.
I still say even if the Zimmerman Note was true, all we had to do was invade and occupy Mexico, problem solved, without having to send a single US Serviceman to Europe.
USS Truman still a month away.
What? These ships can easily cruise at 30 knots and at that speed can travel about 25,000 miles in a month. Since it can’t be more than about 12,500 miles away, something I’d screwy.
We could have just guarded our southern border. It’s not like Mexico could really invade us by sea or air. They were no threat to the United States.
That too.
But Wilson wanted his war.
Also to the best of my memory, there have been atrocities but not until last year or so did we hear of civilians being gassed with barrels of chemicals, chlorine it seems, dropped from Assad's Air Force planes. I'm still doubtful about the first one and even more about the more recent one. If Assad was able to use them, why didn't he earlier before the Russians came in at his request? when he was seemingly in an even more desperate position
And in the Balkans, Tony Blair talked about it being “The First Progressive War”.
“Its not outside the realm of possibility that the Russians were looking for an out, and having Trump talk tough publicly gave them that out.”
Trump and Putin had this conversation weeks ago. That’s what collusion does. /insert sarcasm tag here.
So many responses on these boards can be boiled down to:
“McCain! McCain! Down with McCain”
but: “Blessed be Assad!” “Peace upon Putin!”
McCain isn’t even that powerful. Why can’t we just give Trump the benefit of the doubt here?
Why has all intellectual fiber and genuine historical analysis of what is happening gone out the window?
