A coalition force could fire “air-to-ground or cruise missiles” in the wake of a horrifying chemical attack on innocent civilians in Syria last week.

Aviation experts AirLive have reported this evening a “rapid alert notification” warning aircraft in the eastern Mediterranean to be wary of a sudden missile strike.

AirLive said the alert was issued by Eurocontrol this evening for a “possible launch … within the next 72 hours”.

AirLive said: “According to reports, British forces are mobilising at their bases in Cyprus and Rafale fighter jets could takeoff from St Dizier airbase in France for possible strikes against Syria.”

There is enough equipment from enough countries piling up to make you think they will just flatten the entire country.

Rosaviatsiya, the federal aviation administration for #Russia, has informed state airlines that pilots should exercise caution while operating over the Eastern Mediterranean in fears of possible US airstrikes on Syria.

Civil aviation warnings and NOTAMS does not mean an imminent attack, just a heads up and use alternate flight routes.

Russia know a lot about shooting down civilian air traffic...

Or it could be a move to change the endgame in Syria.
So we can get out earlier (? I hope.)

Let me predict too!

I predict a strike will focus on eliminating at least half of Assad’s aircraft and will include any Iranian assets in the country.

Russian Embassy in Lebanon: “Russia will respond to the US and her allies in the most severe way possible if they launch an attack on Syria. Both fixed and moving assets will be targeted.”

Re: post 23

If your instincts are correct, or nearly so, then is all this hand wringing about possible escalation for naught?

It would seem so.

I was kind of on the Russkies side of this argument until they vetoed the resolution demanding to inspect the ground zero site. So let it be war.

What's the rush?

Just like in Libya and Kiev. Folks are catching on to the true story, so the (not so) Invisible Hand has to act before they're stopped.

UN talking about kicking Russia off the security council. "Russia's actions today are another step against the authority of the UN..."

Got that cabin prepped?

Russia had already requested an inspection. The one we wanted was not as objective.

Syria ‘chemical attack’: Allies agree need for response

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-43719284

In phone calls, Theresa May, Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron said those responsible should be “held to account”.

Mr Macron said any strikes would target Syrian government chemical facilities.

It's gonna be war, not to worry. Quite possibly WW3.

Iran has tanks and weapons piled up on Israel border.

French, Saudi, UK and us all sending tons of stuff to Syria.

China half-heartedly supporting Russia.

If you can believe the report, seems like Trump is not the only one concerned that Assad crossed a red line...I don't think multiple countries are going to risk military action if the evidence against Assad, and potentially Russia and Iran, is not overwhelming....but conspiracy theorist gonna theorize...
