Source? Contrary to everyone's "fear Russia" mantra, the Russians really don't want "nuclear war" either. And the fact is, Russia can't win a shooting war with the United States. They can't even take the Ukraine. They can barley prop Assad up, and need Iranian soldiers to help. Russia sending planes towards US ships in the Mediterranean would result in two things: downed Russian aircraft and a retaliatory strike in Syria that would severely limit Russia's capabilities.
What you say makes sense. Thanks for making me feel better on one aspect of this.
