A federal judge on Monday denied President Donald Trumps former campaign manager Paul Manaforts latest request to loosen the terms of his bail conditions, saying some of the assets he offered to post as collateral are too tied up and cannot be used to meet a $10 million bond obligation.
The denial by Amy Berman Jackson, a U.S. District Court judge for the District of Columbia, means that Manafort will for now continue to remain on house arrest and be required to wear an electronic monitoring device.
The judge on Monday said he is no longer able to post one of his New York properties, because it is now tied to pending bank fraud charges against him in the other case in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Those bank fraud charges are not under the jurisdiction of this court and could give rise to remedies outside of this courts control, she wrote.
She also said he was not allowed to post funds from a bank account owned by his daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Christopher Shand.
She noted that the account has already been seized and that a co-owner of it is neither the defendant nor a blood relative of the defendant.
Jackson said that Manafort can try once again to resubmit a new package that is valued at $10 million and contains unencumbered assets.

10 million dollar bond? Unbelievable
Perhaps a letter of credit issued by Andy McCabe or James Comey would work. Reportedly, both of these fellows are flush.
Wasn’t Manafort just an advisor to the campaign for a brief time...not the campaign manager? How the media lies.
Eighth Amendment,
“Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”
And love this modern fascist state trick. We seize everything they own, then ask “what you gonna use for bail money?”. Roland Freisler would admire this tactic.
Manafort was elevated by Trump to campaign manager for a time in 2016.
>10 million dollar bond? Unbelievable
And, yet, they would ‘catch-n-release’ illegal criminal aliens to do more damage.
How’s that saying go, “Look to see whom the Law protects vs. prosecutes...”
Obongo hack Judge l do believe.
Exactly. Well judge, I can’t post that much bail because you took all my stuff even though I have not had a trial yet.
Court is low on kangaroos ...
Thanks.
Are they saying that this is NOT excessive bail under the 8th Amendment?
Somebody killed somebody just a week or so ago. I can’t remember exactly who the killer was or who he killed but it was a heinous murder.
His bond?
1 million.
Manafort’s being ten million just proves this is a POLITICAL prosecution.
He must have killed more People than Ted Kennedy do to have such a high Bail.
He must have killed more People than Ted Kennedy DID to have such a high Bail.
Or Cecil B. DeMille.
Guys who actually kill people usually make bail by now.
Witch hunt. Gestapo tactics.

Do we even really know what Monafort ever did to deserve this level of disgrace and punishment? I hope the judge knows her day will come and her disgraceful conduct will be a reason to charge and punish her.
Now, I expect every political and white collar “criminal” to have a very similar punishment.... What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, right?
Truly. For the love of God, why don't they just release him on his own recognizance? What do these clowns think, that he's going to move into the Ecuadorean embassy?
This excessive bail is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The two-named judge Amy Berman Jackson who imposed this should be in jail.
Same judge who dismissed the wrongful death suit against Hillary Clinton by parents of two brave men killed at Benghazi.
