In an interview with Vox’s Ezra Klein, Zuckerberg noted that Facebook’s system is capable of detecting “what’s going on” in the Messenger app. He added that when “sensational messages” are found, “We stop those messages from going through.”

Of course, this raised significant questions about the extent to which Facebook monitors its popular chatting app, and later, the company told Bloomberg that although

Messenger conversations are considered private, “Facebook scans them and uses the same tools to prevent abuse there that it does on the social network more generally.”

...

“For example, on Messenger, when you send a photo, our automated systems scan it using photo matching technology to detect known child exploitation imagery or when you send a link, we scan it for malware or viruses,”

Who are these people who think that if you post all your private information and secrets on Facebook and other social media sites, that it will remain private?

Put anything on the internet and the entire world will know about in no time.

The same old rule applies today as back when my mom advised me as a kid.

If you don't want people to know your secrets, don't tell anyone.

"....even the nudie photos I send of myself????....

Those nudie selfies aren't considered pornography.

That's because they're considered disgusting.

I used Facebook for a few months back in 2010. Then I walked away.

Yesterday I finally got around to permanently deleting my FB account.

I want nothing to do with Facebook.

"...smart people don’t know and frankly don’t care>"

I worry about my wife, she knows and still doesn't care. She says she isn't worried, and posts assuming all of it will be made public.

I can't impress on her how much they can piece together although not explicitly said.

If this is true then how is it organized criminal groups have managed to conduct their blackmail scams through messenger?
