You raise an excellent point. Think of all of the many hundreds of billions of $$$ illegals cost taxpayers. Think of the deaths and crime due to illegals. Why shouldn’t we announce we will defend our boarders even if required to shoot at those who would attempt to cross illegally? Why not post 100000 troops along the boarder until the message goes out that it’s closed?

Seems the base axiom for posse comitatus is that the military “defends our borders” by killing would-be threats on _their_ soil, stopping threats before they can get to ours - leaving sheriffs et al to address domestic threats.
“Border patrol” is basically a compromise, doing militaristic national security under the premise of sheriff-type powers.
If the “but posse comitatus!” people press the issue, that will leave little other than a formal invasion of Mexico.

Laughable, right? Unfortunately it’s not because our federal government has been infiltrated by anti-American globalists who have been busy subverting our laws and undermining our ability to turn away the hordes of invaders just now beginning to head our way. If you’ve been paying attention to what is happening in western Europe then you have been seeing the precursor of what is beginning to happen here. Can President Trump turn things around. God bless him for his effort, but I’m not optimistic.
