I think Cuomo, as worthless as he is, is the most formidble candidate the Democrats can prop up like a presidential contender in 2020, if they can stomach the indignity of having a white man lead the ticket (balanced with Kamala Harris, most likely. )
I think Cynthia Nixons real role is to give Andy a little real world training and to air out some of his dirty laundry, so that he can later lie and claim it was all vetted and he was already vindicated in all of it.
Plus, by attacking Andy from the left as not moonbatty enough, shell shore up the balanced moderate image hes been cultivating these last seven years.
