Bill Clinton: I helped Shimon Peres run against Netanyahu
Arutz Sheva ^ | 3/4/18 | Garry Willig

Former US President Bill Clinton admitted Tuesday that he intervened in the Israeli elections in 1996 to help then-Prime Minister Shimon Peres defeat rival Binyamin Netanyahu.

"It would be fair to say that I tried to help Peres win the elections, and I tried to help him in such a way that I would not be openly involved," Clinton said in an interview with Israel's Channel 10 News.

"I tried to help him, because I thought he was a bigger supporter of the peace process, and I tried to do it in a way that served, in my opinion, Israel's interests, without saying anything about the differences in domestic policy," he added.

Clinton's efforts to help Peres failed as the increase in acts of terrorism against Israeli civilians which followed the signing of the Oslo Accords led Israelis to elect Netanyahu for his first term as Prime Minister.

He described his first meeting with Netanyahu in the White House following the election. "He wanted me to know that he knew that I did not support him, and that he defeated us anyway. He behaved in a manner that is very typical of Bibi, but I understood that he was the leader of the state now, and if I wanted to try to support peace I had to find a way to work with him. I was just embarrassed by the audacity with which he conducted himself, but that's who he is."

Clinton blamed the current Netanyahu government for the failure to reach a peace deal with the Palestinian Authority, despite his own failure to broker a peace deal between former Israeli Prime Miniser Ehud Barak and Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat.

Hardly news, except that he admits it now. All these cries of Russia, Russia, Russia, are hypocritical.

Don’t forget that the Clinton campaign had many ties to Communist China, and that Bill did many favors for them, such as allowing a U.S. company to sell them the technology they needed for accurate ballistic missiles.

The nuclear threat from China, and likely, North Korea, is directly the fault of Bill Clinton.

Apparently Clinton had never encountered someone with the audacity to disagree with him.

Geez, maybe he’s getting a little senile and will accidentally start telling some truths. Be nice to get it
on record before he croaks.

Have you noticed that Bill Clinton, Democrat ‘rock star’ and ‘Hillary’s secret weapon on the campaign trail,’ has long been forced to toot his own horn about his so-called accomplishments because nobody else will?

The truth is he was a laughingstock even before leaving office especially among international observers who weren’t fed a diet of US media hype.

His paltry crowds on the 2016 trail were even more pathetic than Hillary’s despite his so called popularity. He frequently encountered hecklers unafraid to mock a former president for his sordid past.

The truth, obvious to anyone willing to concede facts, dates, times and places, is that Bill wanted no part of moving back into the tiny, cramped goldfish bowl of the White House, especially as a presidential consort. He has been living far away from Hillary, playing golf and shagging any woman desperate and easy enough to get into bed with him.

The only upside to a Hillary president would have been the riches on offer before, during and after her throughly corrupt term. But with both of them 75-78 years old when she would leave office how long might they enjoy their ill gotten gain?

Clinton blamed the current Netanyahu government for the failure to reach a peace deal with the Palestinian Authority...

Yet today, faced with overwhelming facts, Clinton, like true Democrats, WANT to believe. They simply FEEL it must be true that Arafat really wanted a peaceful coexistence.

I find it staggering that these people simply refuse to see the truth that is staring everybody else right in the face.

HilLIARy would shed or off her Billygoat just as soon as she got finished using him to capture our White House. So bill wouldn’t need to “serve” as a “presidential consort” —and he’d be far freer to shag anything in a skirt, too

I believe that Bill Clinton’s greatest accomplishment, which, of course is an ironic one, was that Yasser Arafat and the Palestinian movement were exposed as never really wanting any part of a ‘peace plan’.

That’s hardly audacity. The truth hurts, Bill. Stop interfering in elections — especially ours.
