Really? I never knew that. I've always liked William F. Buckley. He was more the thinking man's conservative. Trouble is, our opposition is either nuts, corrupt, or both.

Reason does not work on the corrupt, and it does not work on the insane, so there is very little merit to try to debate them into realizing they are wrong.

Trump's methodology of ridiculing them and bulldozing over them is far more effective.

Thanks for informing me of that Buckley idea. Pointless now, but at least it reassures me that he had a better grasp of the problem than most.
