ABC's revival of "Roseanne" premiered Tuesday to a staggering 18.2 million viewers.
The reboot of the beloved comedy that ran on the network from 1988 to 1997 also notched a stellar 5.1 rating for the coveted 18 to 40 demo for Tuesday's back-to-back episodes.
Americans on Tuesday night were reintroduced to the Conners, a blue-collar family living in the fictional Illinois town of Lanford. The episode did not shy away from politics and current events. Roseanne Barr's eponymous character reveals that she is a Donald Trump supporter

well i can’t find where she said she doesn’t support him- but she did state she wants the show to reflect the will of the voters:
“I’ve always attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and the working class people. And, in fact, it was working class people who elected Trump,” Barr continued. “So I felt like, yeah, that was very real, and something that needed to be discussed.”
“So I wanted to bring it right down the middle, and we did,” she said.
“I’m not a Trump apologist. There are a lot of things he’s said and done that I don’t agree with,” she said.
“It’s always a lesser of two evils,” Barr said, explaining that she couldn’t vote for hillary because of hillary’s involvement in Haiti

The 2 episodes were funny....,but I won’t continue watching if they’re pushing transgender....

I like how it shows how screwed up and divided most families are politically in this country. We’re not all singing kumbaya around the dinner table.
18 million viewers! And many of us who don’t watch OTA tv anymore didn’t even know it was on.
I plan to check it out next week though.
She is a hardcore Trump supporter. Roseanne was dropping bombs on Hillary throughout the entire election season. Her tweets were epic and I remember them well.

I watched. I don`t think he is transgender. He clearly ID`d as a “boy”. Seems more of an attention ploy.

listen to how they handles the transgendered plot and remember the original characters on the show. Darleen was a tom boy originally now she is mother to a child who is not really masculine. at one point Roseann asks the boy point blank about how he viewed himself gender wise. he looked at Roseanne’s character like she is crazy and says the he is a boy. I am sure this is going to be a long term plot but my guess is that he will not be transgendered but at some point one of his friends will be. the reality of children being transgendered is a liberal lie. I had a sister who now lives as a man. the issue really does not hit till after puberty and is a form of body dysphoria. IE a mental illness when ever you have adults claiming there kids who have not gone through puberty are transgendered the problem is the parent and the parent having a form of Munchausen by proxy and that parent is the one with a mental health issue. I think if the show stays on long enough the view I have shared with you will be the one that they share.

Interesting share. It definitely syncs up too with all the mental health studies over the years just as you described. In fact it was found encouraging the change over was just further validation/reinforcement of the original mental issue NOT the solution. Will be interesting to see how this flushes out on the show.
It just dawned on me that Roseanne Barr totally CRUSHED Hillary Clinton’s analysis that “insecure white women” voted for Trump because their husbands, bosses or sons told them to do so. In fact, Roseanne Conner is the tough head of that household and proves, once again, that women have a mind of their own.
I have been reading her tweets and she seems to have been supporting him for some time - though not on everything.

Roseanne Barr had been a strong supporter of Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign getting into twitter fights with pro-Hillary, leftist Hollywood liberals over it all so there’s no way you heard her say she does not support Trump.
