Roseanne made a triumphant return last night, blowing past projections with a 5.2 adults 18-49 rating and 18.2 million total viewers for the debut of its revival, which drew 10% more viewers than the original series finale 21 years ago.
While nostalgia was expected to bring in eyeballs, no one predicted such a huge turnout on premiere night for the blue-collar family sitcom with a Donald Trump-supporting protagonist, especially among the younger demographic. But then, few also predicted that Trump would become the Republican nominee and would win the Presidential election when he first announced his candidacy.

If HRC’s election night loss did not prompt any soul searching (which it didn’t, they’ve doubled down on denial) then this won’t change a thing either.
I think Sanford and Son went the same way...a black junk dealer in LA shifted a lot of folks around.
I’ll predict some kind of revival of older shows coming back....maybe even Maude, and Three’s Company.
Searching for a soul maybe. When they don't find anything, they'll know it's theirs.
They have souls?
LOL, I love Sanford and Son...actually have that as my ringtone on my phone. Whenever other people hear it, it makes them smile!
I’m in my 40s but I love the “older” shows. To me they were way funnier, way more clever, and weren’t smutty.
I recently started watching “Mr. Ed”...was watching through Season 4 on You Tube, then, poof, I can’t watch it anymore. Weird. What a great show that is :)
Me too! Different political views & issues in a family handled with humor. Great fun! Thank you! Definitely no snowflakes in that family!
The idiots killed off Last Man Standing.....a truly enjoyable show
The elitists by remaining in and only communing with themselves inside their own social bubble are completely ignorant of what “the little people” think. Yet they totally depend on sucking the financial life blood of those “little people” to maintain their extravagant life styles.

That would be great. It was a lot like Roseanne, with different political views and statements. The relationship with their black neighbors was interesting and fun. The men traded racial barbs with each other, and each gave as good as he got. The writing was very smart.
I assume there are just very few options for straight white people to watch that don’t devolve into anti-white, anti-normal rants. I couldn’t imagine trying to watch a TV series today; I imagine they are as bad as the commercials out there.
