The tactic being used in these 'marches' is called “Weaponized Empathy” and it’s one of the Left’s most effective tools. It’s also pure evil.

What is Weaponized Empathy? It's when you use people's morals and empathy to manipulate them into serving your own political agenda. It's basically an advanced kind of guilt-tripping designed to get people who really do care about others to vote for their own enslavement.

Guns are killing children! We need to do everything we can to get rid of guns! Don't you agree? What? Do you want to see kids murdered? You don't hate little children, do you? I know you're a caring person and you would never want to see children die. Surely you don't have a problem with just a little sensible gun control, right? You're a good person, right?

Many people, the sort of people who 'feel' more than 'think,' are very susceptible to this line of attack.

It's a bit like using a partner's love to manipulate them into going along with something they really do not want to do. "If you really loved me, you'd let me do it."

The marches have two purposes.

The marches allow the strident coverup of the failure of all local governments in south Florida to protect the citizens while in fact not arresting young black criminals.

The marches are ancient trade union strike tactic of providing a safety valve to release the pressure. The students get to ride on paid busses to DC, freeze their butts off, and then think they have done something.

Exactly. And exactly the tactic used on my HS daughter to try and get her to join in on the high school walkout. “Don’t you support the kids killed at Parkland?”

NO, it’s not about showing support for those slain, that is just flat out deceptive manipulation used on HS kids to emotionally force them to engage in their Marxist activity.

My response is to first come up with a definition of the word “good”, then we can have a conversation.

Different cultures live by different ethics, meaning the understanding of the word “good” is not universal, it is subjective based on culture....which is formed by religious concepts.

I don’t believe a million people a year being killed by the hand of their own government, on average over the last 100 years, is “good”.

That the media enable such childish debates, promoting them as intellectual, speaks volumes about how dumbed down our public education system has made our children. It’s a given that the media think we’re all stupid but this is just insulting.

Correct. Unfort., many on the right can’t articulate past ‘but the 2nd...’ (not that NEEDS to go any further).

Really need to bone up on the absurdity of the Leftists:
- 119 kids/day die behind the wheel, shall we raise the age, ban cars over X weight...
- Since they are ‘too young’ to handle a weapon, raise the age of voting/abortion/legal age?
- Oh, you want ‘safe’, let’s attach (or mirror) the prisons...NO weapons there *wink*
- How ‘bout restoring marksman classes/JROTC. Teach gun safety, no?

Big talk around NE Fl. re: ‘resource officers’ and ‘cost’ of detectors/etc.

Not ONE I heard brought up the simplest of solutions: Allowing those that WISH to exercise their 2nd A. Rights. Such teacher(s) are already faculty and *willing*, why need for hire anyone else? Didn’t the FL shooting already show can’t trust RO/police to halt another shooting??

Weaponized Empathy is employed often.

“If you really loved me, you’d embrace my...
homosexuality
pot use
tats and piercings
f bombing
basement dwelling
...”

That's a good post.
It's amazing how so many individuals are incapable of handling their own individuality in this day.
There is no truth, only consensus born of feelings.
Reality be damned. History be damned.
It's like stampeding buffalo off a cliff.
Whatever happened to “question authority”?
God gave us free will, not stupidity.
Hey all, let's just celebrate mindless blind stupidity.
It's delusional.
