A Pennsylvania school district is arming classrooms with buckets of rocks as a last-ditch defense against mass shooters.
David Helsel, superintendent of the Blue Mountain School District in Schuylkill County, told ABC News on Friday that every elementary, middle and high school classroom in the district is stocked with a 5-gallon bucket full of river stones for students and teachers to pelt an armed intruder.
“We’ve been trying to be proactive just in case,” Mr. Helsel said. “How can you aim a gun if you’re being pelted with rocks?”

Great. So if a school needs to defend themselves against Henry Bowers, they’ll be good to go.
Well, they already have paper and scissors so they will be ready.
The point is that this is a stupid policy.
The shooter at Parkland had body armor, a helmet and a powerful automatic weapon. Running, and locking the door was far more effective than standing in front of him trying to throw rocks.
The only solution is to have armed security inside the school. And to apprehend someone like Cruz who was an obvious threat before he kills people. And to get rid of the stupid liberal, Democrat policies like gun free schools, not apprehending obvious threats and telling armed police officers to stay outside and do nothing.
The answer is not more stupid liberal policies.
The answer is not to encourage young school children to stand in front of such shooters and try to throw rocks at them.
Might as well give them a box of bibles instead. Then they can pray and throw them at the intruder. Could be more effective certainly not any less effective.
Being both liberal and mentally unbalanced is mandatory in order to be a "D" democRAT. Those are their bona fides, as they say.
If deemed intelligent and sane, then they give you an "R" sticker and send you to the other line.
For those liberals who aren't mentally impaired, they are given a sticker with a small "r" and sent to the "R" line. These folks are the RINOs.
With a high capacity 5 gallon bucket of rocks, determined students gathered around the bucket could unleash a deadly salvo of projectiles for a solid minute without reloading the bucket. This would be extremely effective if the hi-cap bucket were filled with pointy rocks instead of round river stones which are known to be ineffective against body armor.
Are they going to give them lessons in how to throw? Missile Defense 101.
I watched some sort of “media PR” piece of some sort of school shooter defense system of some school in Indiana, it is pretty much BS. But they had the kids (high school age) cower in the corner. With desks turned sideways with each kid holding a book to their face. Like the desks or book will do anything. I guess the desks would “stop” a shooter if he was 2 feet tall.
However throwing rocks, books, desks, chairs, whatever at a shooter is better then cowering in the corner holding a book to your face. Being active and causing chaos on the shooter is still a better chance of survival then cowering in the corner waiting to be shot.
That is the way I look at it.
This is a gun toting county. Unbelievable. The county above them has armed guards in the schools.
Be that as it may, I still see no reason to bow to the vanity of some liberal bureaucrat by implementing a stupid policy when they are the only thing standing in the way of an effective policy.

I look at myself as only being a visitor to the future America and I will go back to an earlier time in America's history where society was not losing its mind.

Stupid liberal Democrat policies are not the answer.
The Parkland school shooter wore a helmet and body armor and had a powerful automatic rifle. It is liberal stupidity to encourage young school children to stand in front of such a shooter and throw rocks at him.
Killers being stoned! Almost biblical.
Chances are far greater the stones will be misused on other students than they will have a school shooting.
At least give them semiautomatic slingshots.
I never said it wasn’t unwise policy. I said it was a step in the right direction.
