A shutdown would have been the final nail in Trump’s political coffin. His own party would have rushed to impeach and convict him, once the Democrats started using their propaganda arm (the MSM, where almost all Americans get their information from) to hammer them into mid-term oblivion. You aren’t dealing with an educated public...they won’t get it and they don’t care.

It (the U.S. government...and the country) is a lot further gone than you see. Trump’s situation is that of a guerrila movement against the most established power base the world has ever seen. He’s going to take casualties and defeats.

I concur with you. FR has too many that do not comprehend things. I contacted my Congressman about this bill who is very fiscally conservative and normally would have voted no on something like this. Most of this bill was DoD related and very important to our national security. He sent me a very well written letter about why he had to support it. It explained things that I did not know about but in my professional opinion which we cannot ignore nor have delay from a national security perspective. It had to go through.

Exactly. And there is some truth there. He’s getting outflanked because his own party and own admin won’t support him! Where are “true conservatives” like Cruz calling for Sleepy Sessions to resign? Or blasting McConnell for no judges approved since March 6.

Trump is getting basically ZERO support from his own party. It should not be a surprise when we get garbage from the GOP when even the conservatives in Congress refuse to fully support his administration.
