I say BS. Facebook’s business plan was to offer a “free” service but would make their big bucks on selling ads and information. People signing up signed away all their rights for the free use of the platform.

EXACTLY! FB was not designed primarily to serve the interest of it’s members, but to instead exploit their members data/information by selling it to advertisers and other business interests. Sorry FB members, but that IS their business plan.

As y’all may have gathered, I’m NOT a FB member (victim) :)

“free service”

Absolutely correct. Their long-term plan in 2008/2009, was to build a database and rely upon yearly ‘rental’ or access to make the big-money.

The same gimmick is being done presently by the DNA-tests-for-cheap....they are banking your number results and expect in ten years that a large database exists, and someone will pay for access.
