One day after Orange County supervisors voted to spend more than $70 million to house the homeless, residents in three prosperous cities expressed alarm about a proposal to set up "camp" shelters in their communities.
Besides creating permanent housing, the officials' plans call for possible camps in Irvine, Laguna Niguel and Huntington Beach on county-owned land. The Irvine City Council voted unanimously late Tuesday to sue the county to stop the proposal.

So typical of the Left. They preach about helping the poor and the illegals but never at the expense of the elites. It is okay to feed and house those less fortunate, as long as they are in someone else’s neighborhood. It seems like California wants to be a Sanctuary State with ghettos and no-go zones. No wonder people are leaving.
Life was hard during the Great Depression of the 30’s ... with real unemployment over 25%. But that time had fewer people on assistance - AND fewer ‘homeless’...
Something is wrong.
We’ve created perverse incentives that are causing problems in our culture from school shootings to the ‘homeless’ to almost total alienation in our populations.
You're right. Go with the obvious... WHAT'S HAPPENING IS WHAT SOME GROUP WANTS TO HAVE HAPPEN. It takes effort to destroy a State with as much going for it as California ...
It's reminiscent of the husband who wants his wife to divorce him because he has someone on the side... but wants to look 'good'. So he torments his wife until she ends the marriage. And people (not in the know) say things like, "it's almost like he wants to destroy the marriage'...
If you want to discourage something....you tax it, if you want to encourage something...you subsidize it.
We tax work, property ownership, businesses etc.
We subsidize poverty, single parent "families" (complete with abusive drug dealer live-in boyfriends) hence feral murdering bastards. etc etc etc
The list is long and insane.
You’re right on this Rock...
The government will force people to house homeless people in their homes.
That likely explains why those communities are being specifically targeted.
